Our Principles

“The boughs of the oak are roaring inside the acorn!” – C.Tomlinson.

We live by our core purpose;

  • Helping you grow your business.

We are driven by our core values;

  • Walking the journey with you from start to finish.
  • A personal high challenge, high support ethos.
  • Leadership leaving a positive impression.

Therefore from the moment you make an enquiry, we will ensure we assess what is important for you as a leader and what will be most effective for you or your teams development. We will tailor our development days so we can absolutely help you grow, be it using our live active learning situations, or facilitated group discussions, or theoretical input using key management and leadership models.

We also use ‘personal reflection times’; allowing you to generate your own next steps short and long term goals.

We focus all of our development days on Acorns fundamental four key beliefs of leadership, who anyone in management should truly embrace…

Acorns Key Beliefs

Acorns four key beliefs of leadership are Self Awareness, Communication, Feedback and Teamwork.

All four of which piece together, and when they do you will see the complete picture, and how key they are to you as a Leader. We bring this to life by using our own leadership model in the classroom, and using our active learning situations.

Our Active Learning Situations will challenge you as a leader or as part of a team. We deliver several “live” scenarios in the classroom, but most of which will be outdoors making the most of the local environment, rain or shine. All of which will test your personality and your interaction within your group.

Self Awareness

Self Awareness is crucial to increased personal and organisational performance. Because you may not realise it, but it affects the people around you.

Self awareness is key to understanding your own emotions, strengths, opportunities, values and motives. It is waking up and realising WHO you really are and WHY you do the things the way that you do them.

Communication plays a fundamental role in all facets of business; it is therefore very important that all internal communication within your organisation,  as well as the communication skills of your employees are effective. To be a great leader today you have to be a great communicator.

Communication is key, it builds and maintains relationships, builds an effective team, manages employees, contributes to the growth of the company and ensures transparency.

Feedback is the cheapest most powerful, yet most underused management tool that we have at our disposal. How will you grow your business if you do not let your employee’s know how they are doing, or ask for feedback on yourself to aid your growth?

Feedback is key; it makes communication meaningful, it sustains the communication process, and tells us if our communication is successful.

Businesses are much more likely to perform well when their people work effectively as a team. This is because good teamwork creates synergy – where the combined affect of the team is greater than the sum of individual efforts.
